I am a licensed clinical psychologist with over ten years of experience providing individual and group therapy. As a therapist, I believe in using an integrative approach that draws upon cognitive-behavioral, psychodynamic, and humanistic frameworks in order to create an environment wherein my clients feel safe, valued, and prepared to make meaningful changes. I value my clients' unique experiences and strive to help them examine their past patterns to understand how they have come to be the person they are now. If something is impeding them from achieving the fulfillment they want and deserve, I also offer concrete ways that can help them obtain those goals.
I work with adults and older adolescents who have a variety of concerns, such as stress management, anxiety, relationship difficulties, or adjustment troubles. I have particular specialties and training working with individuals who have eating/body image concerns, survivors of unwanted sexual experiences, and LGBTQ+ young adults. Due to my extensive experience working in university settings, I particularly enjoy working with college and graduate students. My practice is a safe space and affirming of diverse identities.
I earned my Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from American University, completed an American Psychological Association-accredited doctoral internship at the Catholic University of America Counseling Center, and completed my postdoctoral fellowship at University of Michigan's Counseling and Psychological Services. I am currently a Staff Psychologist and Director of Externship Training at the CUA Counseling Center. My earlier training included positions at the American University Counseling Center, the Washington DC Veterans Affairs Medical Center, the DC Superior Court's Child Guidance Clinic, the Arlington County Mental Health Center, and the Renfrew Center of Maryland. I am also a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP) through the International Association of Trauma Professionals. In 2019, I was an honored recipient of the Harriet Copher Haynes Diversity Leadership Mentoring Award, granted by the Association for University and College Counseling Center Directors.
